Dr Miller qualified at St George's Hospital in London in 1984 and has a special interest in respiratory problems, women’s health, musculoskeletal medicine and back pain. In July 2009 Dr Miller became the Chair of the Professional Executive Committee, which is now known as the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) NHS Gloucestershire, where she plays a key role in helping to shape and drive forward health policies for patients across Gloucestershire. Both Dr Miller and Dr Smith look after the patients at The Dean Neurological Centre and visit on a daily basis.
Gill is based at The College Yard Surgery while all other members of the nursing team work at both sites covering all aspects of nursing including: immunisations, travel vaccines, well man/woman checks, ear syringing, removal of stitches, dressings, cervical smear screening, new patient checks, NHS health checks, blood pressure checks and continence assessments.
Our healthcare assistant holds clinics at The College Yard Surgery all day on a Wednesday and Friday morning, and all day on Thursday at The Highnam Surgery. She is trained to take blood samples, measure height, weight, blood pressure, check urine, remove sutures and change dressings. She is qualified and highly skilled in assisting people who are wishing to give up smoking. Any patient new to the practice requires a new patient check which is carried out by the healthcare assistant.
Phlebotomists take blood samples at both sites every week. A phlebotomist works at The Highnam Surgery on a Wednesday morning and at the College Yard Surgery on a Tuesday afternoon. They are the only nurses who can take blood samples for Warfarin testing. Phlebotomists are able to take bloods both in The Edward Jenner Clinic at Gloucester Royal Hospital and in the surgery.
Adam looks after the smooth running of both surgeries. He joined the Practice in April 2016 and is an experienced Practice Manager.

The work of a doctor’s receptionist is exceptionally important as they are often the first person you speak to about your problem. They have a very difficult role, trying to encourage patients to give them information they require, whilst maintaining and working within the practice rules.
All of our receptionists work at both sites, but for continuity the receptionists also have one site which is their 'home' site.

Janet is the lead for carers at College Yard practice.

Nikky's main task is the typing and processing of referral letters.
Sian is a clinical pharmacist. Her role includes most aspects of overseeing medication and prescribing within the practice. She has some scheduled appointments and may also make contact with patients over the phone.
We have a midwife visiting each surgery every week, usually Janet. She can look after all aspects of antenatal and postnatal care. Janet can be contacted on 01594 598167.
